Pakistan: UVAS held a seminar on the 'Future Potential of Floriculture” & “Floral Art Competition'

The Department of Biological Science of the University of Veterinary and Animal Science Lahore (UVAS) arranged a daylong seminar on the "Future Potential of Floriculture" & "Floral Art Competition" at UVAS Ravi Campus Pattoki.

The Floral Art Competition comprised of three categories including fresh floral arrangement, dry floral arrangement and ikebana arrangement etc. Undergraduate and postgraduate students from different departments participated in the competition.

Principle Scientific Officer Horticultural Research Station Sahiwal Mr Mudassar Naseer was the guest speaker and he delivered a lecture to UVAS students. He spoke about various directions to the students who showed their interest in the startup of floriculture business. Principal Officer Ravi campus Prof Dr Arshad Javid presided over the concluding session and distributed certificates, cash prize and shields among the winner of floral art contest and he also presented a vote of thanks. Chairperson Department of Biological Sciences Dr Mubashrah Munir, Prof Dr. Hamda Azmat, Prof Dr Khalid Mehmood Anjum, Chief Organizer, President Dr Aamna Ishaq and event secretary Dr Beenish Aftab and number of students and faculty members were present on the occasion.
