Seminars at Visser's 50th Anniversary Open Days:

Automation and smart concepts a necessity for the food and flowers of the future

If you are curious about the commercial possibilities of automation and the latest serious technical developments, the upcoming seminars that Visser is organizing during its 50th Anniversary Open Days will be a not-to-miss event for you.

The Dutch developer and manufacturer of horticultural automation, mechanization and complete growing solutions and systems, has put together a well balanced seminar program that will showcase some interesting horticultural automation solutions.

One of them is Autostix; Visser's fully automatic cutting transplanting concept. Autostix provides advantages in harvesting & counting cuttings, buffering cuttings in peak seasons and transplanting cuttings. Michael Henzler, business development director for Ball, will host the seminar and panel discussion about the development of Autostix and all the advantages of the entirely innovated cutting harvesting & sticking process.

Another interesting seminar that has a focus on floriculture will be the one from Costa Farms, one of the world's largest producers of houseplants. Costa Farms teamed up with Visser to develop a water and shelf life conserving retail concept and they will speak about the introduction of the WaterWick concept in the U.S.

Those flower minded who are looking for even more inspiration will be served with a special seminar on Retail & Category Management in floriculture, hosted by retail and supply chain expert Eva Dahlqvist.

In regards to vegetable production, Visser will pay special attention to deep water culture and multi layer growing. Visser is one of the few suppliers who, from seeding to packing, offer a complete turnkey solution for fully automated and semi-automated production of aquaponic lettuce, herbs and babyleafs. A special discussion panel featuring field experts will provide room for ongoing discussion on realized projects.

In special multi layer growing seminars, Visser will share its experience and knowledge on growing young plants and finished products without daylight. In this seminar you can learn everything about the current commercial options which Visser has developed.

Multi Layer Growing systems are one of the solutions for the food of the future. And without any doubt, robotics will play a key role in that scenario too. Therefore, Visser also invited representatives from their Japanese partner Yasakawa to discuss the future of industrial robotics and the opportunities in horticulture. Yasakawa takes a closer look at some of the recent emerging trends that are shaping the future of robotics and motion!

The Visser 50th Anniversary Open Days will be held in 's-Gravendeel, The Netherlands from June 12 to 16, concurrent with Flower Trials. Please note that registration is mandatory.
