A recent study tour of Holland, organised by the Bedding & Pot Plant Centre and AHDB Horticulture, was attended by nine growers, consultants and associates from across the UK. The tour included visits to the Bleiswijk Research Centre, Wageningen University and the Bleiswijk Improvement Centre to hear about Dutch research on diffuse light, the use of Mardenkro glass coating products, Ludwig Svensson screens and Saint Gobain (Cultilene) diffused glass. There were visits to two Phalaenopsis producers, Piko Plant and Ter Laak Orchids, and to Pelargonium producer P. van der Haak nurseries, to see diffused glass and screens in action on commercial premises.
