US (GA): Echinacea Sombrero Sangrita is People’s Choice No.1

At its Public Open House events, the University of Georgia Trial Gardens named its 2017 People’s Choice Winner as Echinacea Sombrero Sangrita from Darwin Perennials. It ranked highest in the “flag count” amongst non-industry guests for all categories (annual and perennials).

“For those who were there it is widely agreed that the choices were abundant. There was something beautiful at every turn. So, our winners this year were truly something spectacular,” according to Brandon Coker, Garden Manager for Trial Gardens at UGA.

Sangrita is new for 2018. It is a vibrant scarlet-red color with burgundy-red flower stems that enhance the beauty of the plant. For more information about the award-winning new introduction, click here.
