“Most growers cut their products far too tight”
The grower is standing among fresh green, baby freesias. The flowers in the greenhouse are sustainably produced.
Bulbs of life
The grower is in close cooperation with exporting company FleuraMetz. FleuraMetz buyer Bart Dunki Jacobs follows suit and seems very agreeable. “BOS Freesia produces large volumes, but at the same time one can be sure every single flower is of the same high quality.”
Theun unfolds one of the flower bulbs to show how much life is hidden in such a small casing. “These will become stunning freesias in the most incredible shades! I probably sound like a broken record to most florists but I can’t remind them enough: flower food is preferential, it will prolong the vase-life and the lushness of the flowers maximizing the joy for consumers.”
Ready for the future
A steady eye is kept on the temperature in the greenhouse as this is most influential in how fast the flowers develop. Bart: “It’s very useful as it makes BOS Freesia flexible. Big quantities can be delivered any time.”
Theun includes his younger counterparts in the progress. “We keep growing and innovating. I want to share this with others so the next generation will also appreciate the cultivation of this beautiful product.”
