Agri Lake is an Ethiopian rose grower, which has experienced a turbulent growth in recent years. From 5 hectares in 2015 to 16 hectares now. On one nursery, located at 1700 meters altitude, 9 new varieties have recently been put in production, bringing the number of varieties to 14. At a second production site, called Agri Ceft and located at 2200 meters altitude, there are another 11 varieties. PortalFlora / Hoven and the Mooij is a major buyer of (a significant part of) the flowers and welcomed the grower at the company in Aalsmeer, The Netherland, last Wednesday.

Especially for the Meet and Greet, Mr. Esayas (general manager), Mr. Tadesesse (nursery manager) and Mrs. Mimi (contact person) came over from Ethiopia. As usual, buyers were invited to familiarize themselves with the (new) varieties, to sample them and to get acquainted with the grower.

And it does not end here. In five years time, as the grower mentioned earlier, they hope to expand the acreage to 30 hectares. "Next year we will build another 14 ha," according to Senait Anbesso, Communications Manager.

The day was well attended and sandwiches and drinks were served. In addition, the visitors received a gift, which was handed to them by Mrs. Mimi personally.
