UK: Chinese-themed botanical glasshouse comes to Fleetwood Quays

For the first time the plans for ‘Fleetwood Quays’ were presented last Wednesday November 15th. The multi-million pound transformation of Wyre Dock were unveiled to a selected audience of press, local councillors, business people and organisations.

One of the most defining elements in the fishing port’s regeneration plans
EdenParks, part of Smiemans Projecten, designed the Chinese-themed Botanical Garden. This garden offers the visitors a walkthrough of three different regions of China from a tropical flora perspective.

Wyre Dock Development said if approved, the first stage would be built by 2022. The proposals are due to be submitted for planning approval. John Woodman, a director of the development company, said the plan would see the town focus on drawing on the increasing number of Chinese tourists visiting the UK.
