NL: App for watering being developed
With the signing of an agreement, a collaboration between Delphy, B-Mex and Florinco has been given formal shape. The collaboration focuses on the development of a software application to further optimise the watering on potted plant cultivation.
The parties came together based on an initiative from Erfgoed, specialist in cultivation floors. Each party participates from their own expertise; B-Mex in crop models, Florinco in automation and Delphy in cultivation and advise.
The watering application is intended to give growers the ability and advice on when to water their plants the best. By measuring the moisture in the pot and combining the weather forecast with a climate and cultivation model, the grower is given tailored advice. The first tests show that the model works.
The construction of the application is in the final phase. Florinco, B-Mex and Delphy want to introduce the first version of the application in January 2018. Growers can then get to know the application possibilities for their company at IPM in Essen and HortiContact in Gorinchem.
