Gaby has many years of experience in cultivating tomatoes and worked at a supplier as a consultant in the field of diseases. From 2017 he’s been working fulltime with Farmzy, the strong tomato plant with ripe fruits at purchase, which he developed in recent years. "The plant is easy to maintain: a daily sip of water and once a week a portion of plant food. Farmzy does not grow very fast, but is sturdy. It can handle a heavy rain shower," says Gaby – and this, according to him, makes the plant suitable for consumers.
Organic
In 2017, his first season, Gaby sold 100,000 plants through the flower auction. Gaby: "Because no chemical crop protection products were used, Farmzy has the eco-friendly label. This year I want to start testing with organic nutrients, the aim is to make the tomato plant completely organic. I know it's possible."
At the end of the season the plants are about 1 meter high.
Ambitions
On Farmzy's website the consumer finds recipes to prepare the self-harvested tomatoes. Besides the development of the tomato plant, Gaby still has more ambitions. "Outside the tomato season, I want to get started with herbs, so that I can offer products all year round."
