AU: 2017 Industry Award Applications now open

Are you an award-winning employee working in horticulture? The annual NGIV industry awards are an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of those working in the industry. The winners of two awards – Tree and Shrub Growers of Victoria Scholarship and the NextGen Victoria Trainee/Apprentice of the Year – are determined from applications to Nursery & Garden Industry Victoria (NGIV). Those eligible to apply include students, registered training organisations and employers.

So NGIV asks all those eligible to apply for these significant awards – or encourage a colleague to do so. To submit an application, download the nomination form, address the key selection criteria and email or post the completed form to NGIV.

Winners for all awards will be announced at the NGIV Annual Gala Dinner on Saturday 24 February 2018 at the Hotel Windsor.

Applications close on Friday 9 February 2018.

Tree and Shrub Growers of Victoria Scholarship
The Tree and Shrub Growers of Victoria Scholarship is proudly sponsored by Greenhills Propagation Nursery. The recipient will receive up to $2,000 towards any NGIV-managed training and/or event, such as the Tree and Shrub Growers of Victoria Interstate Tour, annual national or state conferences or an NGIV training course of choice or, alternatively, work experience with the Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show (MIFGS).

To be eligible, applicants must be a permanent resident of Australia, an NGIV member or employee of an NGIV member, a Tree and Shrub Growers or NextGen member and live in Victoria.

NextGen Victoria Trainee/Apprentice of the Year Award
This award is open to a student of any age undertaking a traineeship or apprenticeship between 1 October 2016 and 30 December 2017 in a vocational education and training course that leads to a nationally recognised qualification relevant to the Victorian Apprentice of the Year.

Eligible applicants must be permanent residents of Australia residing in Victoria, and have a contract of training registered with Department of Education and Training (DEECD) Higher Education.
