UK: Floralife research facility moves to new facility in Peterborough

Smithers-Oasis has moved its United Kingdom research facilities to a new state-of-the industry location in Orton Southgate, Peterborough, which is centrally located to many key U.K. bouquet operations.

Nearly double the size of the original facility, the new, two-story, 100-square-meter Smithers-Oasis research facility houses offices, meeting space and the vaselife facilities. The new research facility meets current industry standards and features tightly controlled lighting and temperature requirements.

Research on the entire U.K. Floralife product line is conducted at the new facility including trials on standard formulations, and research to develop new, improved formulas and customer-specific solutions.

“The new, larger, research facility allows Smithers-Oasis to improve our customer service to our valued U.K. customers,” said Marco Marques, managing director, Europe, Floralife. “This move shows the continued commitment of Smithers-Oasis to the U.K. floral industry—a key market in the industry—and to its strategic business initiative to grow the floral business worldwide.”
