IPM Essen gathers the international green sector

In 2018, IPM Essen counts around 1,600 exhibitors from nearly 50 countries. From January 23 to 26, the international green sector has a rendezvous at Messe Essen.

With around 60 percent, plants form the largest exhibition area at IPM Essen 2018. From green and flowering house plants and bedding and balcony plants, shrubs and Mediterranean herbs right up to fruit and vegetable plants and nursery goods of all kinds, trade visitors will find the entire spectrum of trendy growths. The Innovation Showcase in the Green City in Hall 1A gives an overview of what will be hip for the coming garden season.

Digitalisation in horticulture
Above all for producing horticulture, it will be worth taking a look at the Technology area. In the entire Hall 3 as well as in parts of the Galeria and Hall 7, the visitors will find machines, greenhouses, soils, fertilisers and everything for the efficient organisation of the production and further processing of plants. Here as well as in the Teaching Show in the Horticultural Info Centre, one major subject will be advancing digitalisation. Digital developments in horticulture from the fields of monitoring, autonomous machine technology, training and business management will be on display. Moreover, the Horticultural Info Centre will once again become the presentation platform of the green professional associations. Institutions from the advice, scientific and research fields will provide information and advice.

A paradise for florists
At the heart of the fair site (in the entire Hall 6 to Hall 8), IPM ESSEN will have a comprehensive range in store for florists: Around 200 exhibitors will present cachepots, ceramics, wickerwork, candles and decoration articles for appealing floristry. Here, it will also be possible to find sales-promoting products such as greetings cards, packaging material or labels. One must be at the FDF World in the Green City in Hall 1A with daily floristry shows, showrooms about topical consumer trends and many inspirations for contemporary flower design. On all the days, the Trade Association of German Florists (FDF) will be available for discussions. Florists will be able to discover a lot of other fresh stimuli on the BLOOM's booth and in the g&v Creative Centre. Nearly real shop situations will be on display. One new exhibitor in 2018 will be the European Floral and Lifestyle Suppliers Association (EFSA) which will introduce its official trend magazine for the first time at IPM ESSEN. The publication will show the four autumn/winter subjects called Lovely Lodge, Urban Unity, Curious Collage and Delicate Desire.

Strong sales concepts for garden centres and the green retail trade
In the hortivation Hall 13, the trade will obtain new ideas for POS designing. Here, visitors will enter a unique experience world which will relate to the subject of "Family Garden" and will present future-oriented and trend-conscious sales concepts to decision takers in the green retail trade. In addition, exciting lectures in the Speakers' Corner will impart new retail knowledge.
