Ethiopia: Rose nursery in Adami Tulu in full production

Afriflora Sher not only has a large rose nursery in Ziway, but also in Adami Tulu. A village nearby Ziway. In October 2017, this rose nursery went into full production.

The construction of the rose nursery in Adami Tulu started at the end of 2014. Per week an average of one hectare was added. As soon as a greenhouse was completed, it was immediately put into service.



The rose nursery consists in total of 165 net hectares of plantable land, the total area of the nursery is 203 gross hectares of land. The nursery offers employment for more than 2,500 employees.

Latest standards for water management
The rose nursery has been built completely according to the latest standards for water management:
  • Canals all around for the collection of rain and residual water;
  • Reed beds (wetlands) for the purification of residual water;
  • Driplines, for drip irrigation for the plants;


In addition, Adami Tulu also works with IPM.
