NL : Smoked Hydrangea wins the Noviflora NEW Award

For the third time, the Noviflora NEW Award - a reward for the best new product was presented during the Sneak Preview of the Noviflora Show 'Floral Escape'. Five products were nominated.

The nominees were: Cymbidium Magic Chocolate from OrchiDiva, Zamioculcas zamiifolia Zenzi from Duijnplant BV, Philodendron narrow Camouflage from Van der Arend Tropical Plantcenter, Smoked Hydrangea from Dijk van Dijk and Alocasia Stingray from VDE Plant.

Xander van Reisen, Commercial Director, presented Kwekerij Dijk van Dijk with the Noviflora NEW Award and a voucher worth € 5,000 for marketing support. The jury for the best new product in 2018 had this to say: 'Smoked Hydrangea has a bold-looking flower with beautifully blackened leaf margins. We thus expect this Hydrangea to appeal to a new target group: young consumers aged 20 to 35. This would mean a real breakthrough in the traditional market for hydrangea plants. This plant with a bold look in a cardboard tray makes this newcomer a real eye-catcher.'
