Kenyan and Italian flowers banned for import due to absence of the phytosanitary certificate

Russia: 120 thousand flowers not allowed in Pskov region

The department of Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance inspected a batch of flowers, buds and decorative greenery cuts in the amount of 120 thousand pieces originating from Colombia, Ecuador, Italy, Israel in the international checkpoint Burachki. As the result of the inspection, a part of the batch, over 66 thousand pieces were banned for import.

By Elena Nikitina

The reason for the ban was a lack of phytosanitory certificates for a part of the produce, as well as partially missing marking on the package, required by the phytosanitary requirements on quarantinable products for the territory of the European Economic Union.

The flowers banned for import were returned to the cross-border territory.
