Terra Nova Nurseries:

Heuchera 'Lemon Supreme': bred for sun tolerance

Terra Nova Nurseries announced a sneak peek of Heuchera 'Lemon Supreme' PPAF PVR, the newest variety from the company to date. Bred for sun tolerance, Heuchera ‘Lemon Supreme’ grows well in full sun where other yellow foliage tends to burn out and fizzle. Testing and trials by the breeding team indicate the new variety is the most sun tolerant yellow-to-lime leaf heuchera. It also performs quite nicely in shade, with exposure being part shade to full shade.

Heuchera ‘Lemon Supreme’ has clean, round leaves that turn to lime in summer. It forms a rounded habit and boasts beautiful, sporadic white flowers. This new eye-catching variety provides many landscape applications such as being used as a contrast or an accent plant and in mass plantings, borders, mixed beds, and containers.

Special uses allow it to be a virtuous garden addition in the Deep South or where low-water usage is present. It supplies bright winter color and is a hummingbird and pollinator attractor.

U.S.D.A. Hardiness Zones for Heuchera ‘Lemon Supreme’ are 4-9, with a long bloom time of June through September. The variety’s mature height is 8” with a width of 18” and flower height of 14”. Growers will benefit from a fast finish time of 4-6 weeks.

Terra Nova Nurseries has created a “Plant Profile” page and “Grower Recipe” specific to this new variety so growers interested in orders can learn about growing habits, plant characteristics, fertilization recommendations, water requirements, and other insights provided by the breeding team. These documents can be viewed and downloaded for printing at: www.terranovanurseries.com. Growers can contact their Terra Nova Nurseries representatives or email the sales team at sales@terranovanurseries.com.
