NL: Breeder Anthura builds new greenhouse

Anthura recently started construction of a new greenhouse on the Anthuriumweg 10 in Bleiswijk, the Netherlands. The breeder, that specializes in orchids and anthuriums, celebrates its 80th anniversary this year and is busy investing in the future. In order to boost research and breeding capabilities, an old greenhouse will be demolished to make space for a new 13,300 m2 greenhouse constructed by Van der Hoeven Horticultural Projects B.V.

Construction is expected to be completed by December, and the breeder says the modern greenhouse will be advanced in terms of sustainability. Energy comes from a variety of sources: heat pumps, solar panels and electricity from the RoCa power plant. This means heat can be provided entirely without natural gas.
