NL: Opti-flor celebrates its 90th anniversary
This year Phalaenopsis grower Opti-flor celebrates the 90th anniversary of the Hendriks family in horticulture. Jan Hendriks started the company in 1928. Meanwhile Marco and René Hendriks are the third generation entrepreneurs. They will soon celebrate this extensively during the ‘Friends of Opti-flor Festival.’ Invited guests will be present.
In 2018 it will be 90 years since Jan Hendriks started the company in Kraaijenstein. At the time he cultivated various vegetables under flat glass. In 1962 the next generation took over the company and just over ten years later Leo, Jan and Wim Hendriks moved to Madestein. There they started the year round cultivation of tomatoes. The third generation made a complete switch to the cultivation of Phalaenopsis. From the start of this cultivation, Opti-flor was always able to distinguish itself by focusing on innovation and the cultivation of many special varieties. These special species each have their own story in the distinctive concepts in which they are sold.

The commitment and involvement of enthusiast and motivated employees are decisive for the success of Opti-flor."
