Cayambe rose grower on earthquake:

"Ecuador: "We felt the shake, fortunately no other effect"

"We felt the shake. It was very short and not too strong", says an Ecuadorian rose grower, located at Cayambe when asked if he felt the 5.5 magnitude earthquake that was registered in the province of Imbabura on May 22, a province just above Cayambe.

Fortunately, so far, no damage is reported, mentioned Prensa Latina and also at this grower, nothing got damaged. "Except for one or two girls that were scared but there was no other effect", he says.

According to reports from the Geophysical Institute, the epicenter of the quake, which occurred at 08:36 (local time), was located 45 kilometers away from Cotacachi, reported Prensa Latina.

Also residents of Quito reported a strong comeback and numerous institutions chose to evacuate their staff from public office buildings and some schools.
