Floricultura expands with anthuriums

From week 26 onward Floricultura expands its assortment with anthurium. In cooperation with Van der Voort Young plants a beautiful new assortment is ready to enter the market. In first instance it will involve 30 to 40 large flowered and compact varieties. In the next phase this will be expanded. The varieties are suited for various pot sizes and climate conditions.

Director Ronald van Geest: "We closely follow the developments in the market. What is the market need and how can we make use of it? We have a broader vision than just the product group orchids. As a seasoned player in breeding, selection, and nursing orchids, we have a lot of expertise in how to select a good tropical plant.

The anthurium world is ready for a fresh breeze. New varieties and especially a new marketing strategy. We are convinced to be able to offer added value in this. Our core values inspire us to strive for an honest and transparent long term relationship with our buyers."

Professional marketing
Floricultura has been making steps to become more professional for some time now. With the arrival of Ronald van der Geest a couple of years ago, and the subsequent introduction of the sales team, the time is now right to properly set up marketing. At the moment a customer survey is conducted to find out the details of what moves the market and customer.

Van Geest: "We are in daily contact with our customers of course. But this survey enables us to go deeper. What are the wishes and needs of the market? What about identity and image? How can we support our customers even better to market the product even better, and raise the profitability of the customer? The orchid market is going through tumultuous developments, and that requires a different approach. Our ambition is to make the difference for our customers and to help them achieve the highest profitability possible."

Mark Eijsackers to become marketing manager
With that thought Floricultura aims not only at a continual renewing assortment, but also at marketing. This is what the market demands: play into the customer needs and communicate to the customer in a professional manner. That is why Marc Eijsackers starts as marketing manager this summer. Marc has a passion for the sector, and sees a lot of opportunities and possibilities to get marketing into the DNA of the company and to offer the best service possible to the customers of Floricultura.
