Turkey: Landscape roses of Istanbul Agac A.S. used all over in Istanbul
Istanbul Agac A.S. is the sole owner of the licensed production and sales of landscape roses and grows around 2 million landscape roses annually.
Agac A.S. Head of Marketing Ugur Pulat: “1.5 million of the roses grown in Alibeykoy district of Istanbul, are used in the landscaping projects around Istanbul. These landscaping projects cover many coastal areas of Istanbul along the sides of the highways.
The agreement to grow landscape roses was reached in 2005 and Agac A.S. is the only licensed grower in Turkey at the moment. The remaining 500,000 is sold to local municipalities for them to use in their parks.
We are also selling these roses to Arab countries and Turkic countries. Landscape roses is very resistant and can survive between – 35 and + 50 degrees, that’s why it is preferred in countries where climate conditions are rough in both spectrums. These roses have the necessary characteristics for sustainable landscape projects.”
