In Aalsmeer, almost 200 members were welcomed. Other members and interested parties could follow the GMM live on the website. Voting could be done remotely this time, and in advance of the meeting.
Jack Goossens, chair of the Supervisory Board, concluded, "The implementation of a Members' Council is a historic moment for the cooperative and its members. The Members' Council offers members the opportunity to influence the policy of Royal FloraHolland and a means to communicate their ideas. In December we shall organise the last GMM, at which the members will elect their Members' Council."
Steven van Schilfgaarde, CEO of Royal FloraHolland, presented the more tightly focussed strategy of the cooperative during the GMM. Strengthening the marketplace is a key element of it, both its physical and digital versions. Making Floriday successful takes priority, as does improving the daily service provision and the realisation of Integral Logistic Control. Steven van Schilfgaarde emphasised in the clarification of the annual accounts that Royal FloraHolland is financially healthy, but that choices will have to be made to carry out the strategy.
