CAN (ON): Ag Energy Co-operative turns 30

On May 30th, Ag Energy turned 30. Ag Energy Co-operative was founded in 1988 by vegetable and flower greenhouse growers looking for a better way to purchase natural gas. The growers saw an opportunity to unite and formed the co-operative that grew into the modern day Ag Energy.

Ag Energy has changed significantly since the beginning: the co-operative now sells electricity, has more pricing options, and has opened our membership to all businesses in the agri-food, agri-tech value chain including food processors, dairy farms, wineries, cannabis growers, and ethanol production facilities. While the co-operative continues to grow to meet the members’ needs, it remains firmly rooted in its core values of contribution, caring, and co-operation.
