"On the evening of May 22, a thunderstorm struck Northern Colorado and threw down up to 2" of pea-sized hail. While many plants in the Three-Year Perennial Trial were protected by the nearby building and trees, some more exposed varieties were torn up. However, the garden has bounced back nicely and many varieties are now beginning to bloom. Almost all new varieties for 2018 are planted and the garden is looking full. Now the focus is on weeding and deadheading to keep the plants looking nice!
"Some fantastic plants that have performed well and show early summer color are lupines and sea thrift. Armeria Dreameria 'Sweet Dreams' has been gorgeous since early-spring, with medium green cushions of foliage and small pink pompoms of flowers."
