UK: Lovania adds 10 acres under glass
Adding to its production portfolio and bringing its total production area to 42 acres across 16 sites, Lovania have acquired the 10-acre former Mahood site at Moss Lane, Hesketh Bank. The increased glass production is an important step to add to the existing developments at Nook Farm where Phase 2 of under-glass production is also planned – with more to come in 2019.
Partnership with Aldi
Announced to the media during the NFU’s launch of its new Plants and Flowers Pledge on 22 June, the developments and the continued relationship with Aldi is heralded by the Lovania team, headed by Managing Director, Charmay Prout. Charmay said of the Aldi relationship that it had been “amazing to share the journey of success” with them over the last 20 years.
Aldi is the first retailer to commit to the Pledge and the principles of the Groceries Supply Code of Practice as applied to ornamental suppliers in the same way as it does its fresh produce suppliers.
