How to obtain uniform soil moisture in hanging baskets

After installing OASIS last week, Kurtz Farms filled the basket line with 968 calibrachoa hanging baskets that had been growing under a traveling water boom.

With the basket line running, the first 360 baskets were automatically weighed by OASIS, and the weight of each basket was plotted as a point on the touch screen chart. Below is the screen capture of that chart.

Later, with a target weight of seven pounds, OASIS watered each basket as needed.

Then, to show the results of the OASIS watering, the first 360 baskets were again automatically weighed by OASIS, and the weight of each basket was plotted as a point on the touch screen chart. Below is the screen capture of that chart.

Results: The finish weight of each watered basket was extremely close to the seven pound target. The baskets that originally weighed over seven pounds remained overweight. These overweight baskets will eventually dry down below seven pounds, and all of the baskets will be evened out on a subsequent OASIS watering.
