"NL: "Consumers want sustainable products"

Many florists know where to find the Flora Trade Parc. Every week they drive to the Dutch city Venlo to do some shopping. "Our customers come from far and wide", says Harm van Raaij of FloraZON. "Both from the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium and from further away, like from Italy."

Sometimes they come once, sometimes several times per week. At Cash & Carry FloraZON they find a wide range of flowers, plants and decorative items. Companies such as FleuraMetz, Ebus Planten, Gebr. Dings, Alflora and Garden Plant can all be found under one roof, while still maintaining their own hall and look. FloraZON boasts a total surface area of 29,000 m2.

Sustainable products
"Here are the plants that we sell under the new sustainable Fair Flora label", Harm says. "This is just a selection, over time it has to grow even more. We will be exhibiting them together at this location, so that florists have a good overview of sustainable, climate-neutral products." On the products there is a card that reads: 'I am Fair Flora'.

"Sustainability is still a topical theme, and consumers are also increasingly asking questions. By offering products with this label, florists can distinguish themselves. It is also clear to the consumer that these products have been grown sustainably," says Harm.

Lots of choice

FloraZON is located at the Flora Trade Parc in Venlo. This area has grown in recent years into a center of business for florists, garden centers and home shops. A look at the neighbors - Trends & Trade - indicates that the choice is truly immense.

More than 180 exhibitors display their products on more than 20,000 m2. "They always adapt their selection to the latest trends. A number of the companies that have a stand here now also have a wholesaler on the Flora Trade Parc site. "
