Salon du Végétal drew more than 10,000 visitors

The Salon du Végétal closed its doors a week ago in Nantes. Visitor numbers remained steady, with 10,197 professionals attending.

It was a keynote event for the entire sector, the highlights of which included:
  • 3 days crammed full of business, exchanges of ideas and conviviality
  • A lively gala evening, unique of its kind in the sector, with over 1,000 exhibitors and visitors enjoying a perfect opportunity to do business and unwind on the Exhibition Centre esplanade.
  • Visits by several foreign delegations (Chinese landscapers, Italian nurserymen, American retailers, European journalists and more).
  • The Innovert contest, which saw prizes awarded to 14 innovative new ideas, a high calibre jury and a prize-giving ceremony presented by Carole Tolila (co-presenter of gardening programme "Silence, ça pousse!")
  • Demonstrations of specific skills, with the regional qualifiers for the "Meilleurs Apprentis de France Paysage" competition, the MFR battles, floral demonstrations, etc.
  • A concept store for florists, featuring the colours headlining the current Boho trend
  • The latest merchandising trends showcased on exhibition stands and in the Retail Corner
  • Fabulous stagings, particularly on the Exhibition Centre esplanade, and the young plants dinner banquet, created by the Collectif Vent d’Ouest

Steering Committee
On Thursday 21 June, a meeting was held between the Salon du Végétal organisers and members of Val’hor, representing the families that make up the inter-branch organisation (Production-Retail, Landscaping & Floristry). BHR President Thierry Browaeys announced the creation of the Steering Committee to establish the Salon du Végétal more firmly at the heart of the inter-branch organisation: putting plants and flowers front and centre and associating all who work with them more closely with the Salon du Végétal. Each family has its own codes, history and way of working, he said, but now it is time for us all to come closer together. Mikaël Mercier, President of Val’hor, hailed the initiative as an unprecedented opening up of the sector.
