NL: Dutch Flower Group expands with 10,000m2 processing, office space

Dutch Flower Group has expanded with 10,000 m2 of processing rooms and offices on Betula 11 in De Kwakel in business park Zuid.

At the festive opening, which culminated in the ceremonial cutting of a ribbon decorated with the company logos of Bloom, Greenex and e-Flora. CFO Harry Brockhoff announced that the new building is the most sustainable building in the sector in Aalsmeer.

Sustainability was the focal point from the very start of the project, and engineers were therefore able to integrate many different energy-saving measures. For example, LED lighting has been used, the cooling installations allow for energy recovery, and 1,500 solar panels were installed on the premises. Thanks to these investments, it is possible to generate 400,000 kWh per year which is enough to provide almost all Dutch Flower Group companies on the business park with sustainable energy for the lighting of its industrial buildings.

In addition to this sustainable approach, Bloom, Greenex and e-Flora have also gained access to the most modern working environment, taking into account the sustainable employability of all employees, both in the processing of bouquets, plants and the office environment.
