Star Roses and Plants wins three AGRS awards

Star Roses and Plants won three awards from the American Garden Rose Selections (AGRS) testing program—the successor organization to All American Rose Selections. AGRS recognizes roses that are easy to care for, disease-resistant and suitable for different regions of the country.

Star Roses and Plants winners are as follows:

Look-A-Likes BougainFeelYa, a regional winner in five regions: South Central, Southwest, Northwest, North Central and Northeast.
Tequila Gold, a regional winner in four regions: South Central, Southwest, Northwest and North Central.
Tequila Supreme, a regional winner in three regions: South Central, Southwest and Northwest.

All three roses were bred by Meilland International.

“We’re honored to receive these awards,” says Jacques Ferare, Rose Program and License Department Director at Star Roses and Plants. “We’re fortunate to work with the best breeders in the world, which allows us to introduce high-performing, superior roses.”

All roses entered into the AGRS are tested for two years in six different geographical regions, each containing two test gardens. Additional characteristics that are evaluated include: vigor, foliage proportion, plant habit, flowering effect, rebloom habit, bloom form, aging quality of blooms, fragrance, and hardiness. In order for a variety to be granted an award, it must average at least 80 out of 100 points in at least three regions.
