NL: Students interning in the Westlands and following masterclasses at DFG

The DFG-Lentiz course at Hamiplant ended on June 22. This course is a close cooperation between Lentiz and Dutch Flower Group, where vocational education students in the Business & Management course follow a 7-month internship at one of the companies of Dutch Flower Group in the Westlands.

During their internship, the students work in different departments. In doing so they develop a good idea of the different disciplines within a company as well as the internal affairs and cooperation. Mentors from the company will be guiding the students with their work and during the execution of two practical assignments. The students will also be attending masterclasses in sales, purchasing, supply chain management, HRM, lean management and “view of the branch”, all by industry professionals.

Last school year a total of 9 students of Lentiz have interned at a variety of Dutch Flowers Groups companies. At the end of their internships, the students gave short pitches about their research results.

In November 2018 there will be a new group of 11 students. Dutch Flower Group wants to make a constructive addition to both education as well as company life, helping students further develop for a professional future in greenhouse horticulture.
