UTB and Van Dooren have been working together as partners for years mainly in transporting perennial and flower bulbs. So, the connection between the two has been like this for years, on both the business and personal front. This connection and the lack of a successor at UTB as well as the changing laws regarding transport is what made Geert Urselmann decide to join Van Dooren. With its main reason to continue the service provided for their customers and of course to secure the jobs of his current staff.
The market of UTB is mainly focused on the Dutch provinces of North- and Mid- Limburg and Brabant. For Van Dooren this was also an important reason for the takeover. Van Dooren views North Limburg as an area with lots of potential. Both in perennial and flower bulbs, tree growing, soft fruit- and vegetable plants. With this take over, besides the current locations in Hillegom and Breezand, Van Dooren is hoping to make a fresh start in Limburg.
With the takeover both Van Dooren Transport and Van Dooren Forwarding want to position themselves stronger. The area of Venlo is a perfect location for the cross-docking of many types of transport of the Dutch and German relations.
Urselmann Transport Bergen was founded in 1957 by the Urselmann brothers. Van Dooren Transport was founded in 1895 and is now being run by the 5th generation of Van Dooren.
