NL: Baas Plantenservice ordered to pay 2.5 million euros
Baas Plantenservice was declared bankrupt in early 2014. The company was active in the trade of flower bulbs, garden plants, bedding plants, house plants and perennials. In the period leading up to the bankruptcy, it was found that directors engaged in fraudulent transfers, wronging a number of creditors.
Receiver Guus Berntsen discovered this after the bankruptcy and sued the directors. He sued them for 2.5 million euros, the court ruled in his favor on all counts. The money will go to growers and suppliers via the receiver.
There is still a possibility for the directors to lodge an appeal.
