"Sande Holland and PlentyPlants introduce "GreenCubez"

Under the brand name "GreenCubez", PlentyPlants and Sande Holland are introducing the first square ornamental pot from high-grade, water-resistant cardboard. Easy, light-weight, environmentally friendly, affordable and stylish. The high-quality prints make GreenCubez suitable for plants in the higher market segment.

The CallaCube was at the base of the GreenCubez idea, which PlentyPlants developed especially for Sande Holland. The concept comprises three cube sizes with different prints, which match the luxurious look and feel of potted callas.

Johan Roelandt and Guido Veeken of Sande Calla present the GreenCubez at Cultivate'16 in Ohio earlier this year (July)

Cultivate'16
During the international Cultivate'16 show in Ohio, Sande Holland introduced the CallaCube. "The consumer is increasingly interested in interior design and is sensitive for trends, also when it comes to plants. In addition, environmental awareness is growing, and they're becoming more price aware as well. GreenCubez meets those needs," says Guido Veeken, sales director at Sande Holland.

The normally critical American market is also enthusiastic about the innovation, which is apparent from the positive response. The concept is new, outside the box, fresh, sustainable and affordable. "The many positive reactions and the demand to use the ornamental pot for other plants as well, caused us to unroll a concept that can be used for a wider range of products. This resulted in the GreenCubez. An ornamental pot with added value. Ready to give, ready to use and printable in any design. Great for chains that want to expand their own look and feel into their plants display."

Cardboard gaining ground
"Cardboard is gaining more of a foothold in the packaging sector. Other industries are also seeing that this sustainable material is an attractive alternative to plastic and other raw materials, like wood and glassware. Cardboard is the future: it's eco-friendly, versatile, but also modern."
