Sustainable garden center opens in the Netherlands

On Thursday 1 December, the new Ranzijn tuin & dier in Leiderdorp opened the doors to its customers. The previous evening, surrounded by a group of specially invited guests, managing-director Bart Scheffer and manager Edwin Stromberger rang the bell to mark the opening of this garden centre, which measures just over 8,000 m2.

Thermoflor had full responsibility for every aspect of the realisation of this turnkey new-build project. The new garden centre is very sustainable, with LED lighting, solar panels and high-grade insulating materials. The building is designed according to Ranzijn tuin & dier’s distinct house style and is enhanced by lots of natural light via the many transparent roofs and walls.

The Leiderdorp branch is also the location of Ranzijn tuin & dier’s 10th veterinary clinic. From now onwards pet owners can consult the clinic for medical help for their pets seven days a week. The modern clinic has its own operating room and laboratory, and ultrasound and X-ray equipment. People can also take their pets along for a health check and vaccination, or to have their nails cut.
