US (NC): Colorful Mirage Salvia trials at Metrolina

At its flower trials in Huntersville, N.C., Metrolina Greenhouses Inc. puts plants through the paces. Dr. Mark Yelanich is the Director of Research, and reports weekly on what's looking good. This November, Dr. Mark wrote about the impressive color on our Mirage Salvia greggii.

"The perennial salvia we have been trialing, to be honest, have not been that exciting this year... that is until now!" he says. "I could not believe what I saw when I was doing my ratings this week. This amount of color in November is amazing!"

Some of Dr. Mark's trial photos are below, along with a few of his comments. For his full report, visit metrolinagreenhouses.com.

"The standout color right now is the Cherry, which is very bright, bright color."

"The Soft Pink is not as bright but does have a unique flower color."

"The Mirage Purple and Mirage White are also very nice colors but were much more compact than the rest of the series."
