Ukraine strengthens ties with Kenya

During the visit to the Republic of Kenya, the Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Mr. Sergiy Kyslytsya held the first ever Ukraine–Kenya bilateral political consultations on December 1, 2016. 



Together with the Acting Minister – Principal Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kenya Amb. Monica Juma, they discussed a wide range of issues of Ukraine–Kenya political cooperation both bilaterally and within international organizations.

The Kenyan side has once again confirmed its support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.

During the consultations the Deputy Ministers of the two countries also exchanged views on the situation in the East Africa region.

Following the talks both sides have identified priority areas for further bilateral cooperation, development of political dialogue, strengthening trade and economic relations, intersectoral cooperation, enhancement of the cooperation in the sphere of education and science, as well as development of the respective legal framework.

Sergiy Kyslytsya also urged the Kenyan counterpart to facilitate the visit to Kenya by the business delegation of Ukraine, headed by the Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine – Trade Representative of Ukraine Natalilia Mykolska that is coming soon to Nairobi.
