Biobestgroup.com available in Russian & Turkish

To provide additional support to our growing customer and distributor base in Russia and Turkey, the Biobest website is now available in Russian and Turkish.

With Turkish and Russian, in addition to Dutch, English, French, Spanish and Chinese, www.biobestgroup.com is now available in seven languages.

Biobest gained an initial foothold in Russia in 2001 with sales of bumblebees. Beneficials followed suit in 2014. The interest of Russian growers in IPM programs is growing rapidly, with tomato, cucumber and roses as the leading crops.

“Russia has invested significantly in strengthening its local production infrastructure for horticultural products”, says Koen Van Elsen, Area Manager of Biobest. “The greenhouse sector is growing rapidly and modern growers are eager to adopt the latest technologies, also in terms of Integrated Pest Management. Sustainable production and healthy produce are also high on the agenda for the Russian consumer.”

For the past eighteen years Biobest Antalya – the Biobest group company based in Turkey and serving the Turkish market – has been providing pollination services and beneficials to the Turkish tomato & pepper producers.

“These growers are keen to adopt pollination services in a bid to save labour, improve quality and yield and improve marketability”, explains Çağlar Çiftçi, assistant sales manager & marketing at Biobest Antalya. “As in many European countries this growing IPM trend is being fuelled by increased pest resistance to conventional chemicals and residue issues - particularly in regard to fruit destined for export. Turkish tomato producers also welcome the improvements it is bringing to working conditions in the crop.”

“Almost all Turkish tomato crops now employ bumblebees for pollination. Approximately 22% of pepper and 1% of tomatoes are grown by using IPM.”
We trust Turkish and Russian visitors to our website will find online access to Biobest’s technical product information a useful resource of clear and practical information.
