Finland: All-led greenhouse lighting for KEUDA

KEUDA is one of the leading educational organization for gardeners in Finland regarding LED lighting. First trials with LEDs were started in 2014, when Netled delivered lighting for growing tests for salad, herbs and pot plants. Several varieties and plants were tested and after 2 years of successful growing tests two greenhouses were installed with an all-LED solution.

KEUDA produces salads, herbs, a variety of pot plants and their own vegetable seedlings. LEDs help to produce better quality and higher light intensities with less energy consumption. The all-LED solution also gives great platform for students to adapt new growing technologies; this way, they are more ready for the real working environments, since LED lighting is rapidly becoming the standard in commercial greenhouses.

"We have got great results in vegetable seedlings and colorization of poinsettia. Also amaryllis grows in more beautiful form. With the all-LED solution we can also get a longer season for our salad and herb production, for which we have great local demand," says Risto Kononen, Head Gardener, KEUDA.
