Taiwan actively boosting flower exports

The exports of fresh cut flowers have played a very important role in supporting Taiwan’s floriculture industry in the last ten years, especially the exports of their world-famous phalaenopsis. In the first 8 months of 2016 alone, the total exports of fresh cut flowers have generated revenue of 246.729 million USD, about 68% of which was contributed by phalaenopsis. No wonder Taiwan is considered to be the kingdom of phalaenopsis. It is said that every year the exports of phalaenopsis make up of over 50% of Taiwan’s total flower exports. What’s more, the gross value of flower exports in the first 8 months of 2016 have exceeded the annual exports of 2015 by 53.109 million USD, which is the manifestation of the fact that Taiwan’s floriculture industry is now vigorously expanding its market outside of Taiwan.

China's floriculture imports rising
It has been reported that in recent years, China Mainland’s imports of flowers has been on a rapid rise. According to China Mainland’s customs statistics, the annual floriculture imports in 2015 totaled 214 million USD, up 15.6% compared with 2014 due to the domestic market demand for flowers of high quality and new varieties.

TFEA to Attend Flower Expo China 2017
Taiwan Floriculture Exports Association (TFEA) is so eager to attend 2017 China International Floriculture & Horticulture Trade Fair (Flower Expo China 2017). Seeing such a promising market located just right across the strait, Mr. Zhuang Binghuang and Mrs. Pan Heyun, respectively Secretary-General and Project Coordinator of TFEA, have decided to look further into China Mainland’s floricultural market personally. Booth T21A in exhibition hall No.2 of Flower Expo China 2017 has booked for them to demonstrate the unique fresh cut flowers they specially bring from Taiwan, including a wide variety of phalaenopsis. Their member enterprises will also sent representatives to come along and meet with insiders worldwide. It is believe that their trip to Flower Expo China 2017 is bound to greatly promote communication between the floricultural industries of China Mainland and Taiwan.

The Flower Expo China will be held from March 13-15, 2017 at the Guangzhou International Sourcing Center in Guangzhou, China.
