Japanese export association to attend Flower Expo China

Speaking of Japanese flowers, most people will say Sakura, aka Cherry Blossom. However, there are also many other beautiful flowers in Japan, such as Gentiana, Sweet pea, Lisianthus, Dahlia, etc., and they are being exported worldwide. With rich varieties and high quality, Japanese flowers have won international recognition.

Variety improvement
Not only is Japan one of the world’s biggest high-end flower exporters, but also a major developer of new varieties. It is said that over 70% improved varieties of Lisianthus, Gentiana and Violet in the world are developed by Japan. And the improved varieties of Ranunculus developed by Japan account for about 50% in the world. What’s more, statistics suggest that in Japan there are about 1,000 experienced experts on variety improvement, who are highly committed to providing the world with high quality Japanese flowers.

Japan actively boosting flower exports
In order to further boost the exports of flowers, recently the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of Japan has laid down a new flower export strategy. According to this strategy, countries and regions like Europe, China Mainland, Hong Kong, Singapore, U.S., Russia, etc, will be listed as their key export markets and by 2020 the annual total exports of floral products should reach 15 billion JPY.

JFPEA at Flower Expo China 2017
In response to this new strategy, Japan Flowers and Plants Export Association (JFPEA) has recently confirmed their attendance to 2017 China International Floriculture & Horticulture Trade Fair (Flower Expo China 2017). At their booth M201-M203 in Exhibition Hall No.2, some of the most popular items from Japan will be on display, such as Lathyrus odoratus, Gloriosa, Tweedia caerulea, Eustoma grandiflorum, Bonsai, etc. Mr. Testuya Tajima, President of JFPEA and Mr. Kenichi Saito will also be there.
