Hans van der Meijs does the job

NL: P. van Dam & Zn expands cooling cells from 400 to 1800 m2

The company P. van Dam & Zn. BV is located on the grounds of the world's largest flower auction Flora Holland in Honselersdijk since 1999. The location of this Westland based company covers an area of more than 5000m2 and 2017 is the year to expand the cooling system.

It was decided, in cooperation with Hans van der Meijs BV, to dismantle the two existing cooling cells with a total floor area of approximately 400m2 in phases and to reuse the panels and doors for new the cell of approximately 1800m2. The shortage of panels is supplemented with new ones. A part of the cooling cell ceiling has been reinforced with ribs in order to enable storage on top of it. This creates extra square meters for storage, that can be used by the production hall.

Even the lighting is considered thoroughly: a total of 100 new LED bulbs were installed. The two existing cooling systems have been taken for recycling and a good used system with new Bitzer compressors and refurbished duplex Helpman evaporators were provided and connected to this cell.

The refrigerant is environmentally friendly. The use of recycled materials is a nice joint step towards a circular economy.
