Broekhof participates in BSCI

From the 1st of January this year, Broekhof is an active participant of the Business Social Compliance Initiative (BSCI). The BSCI is a Supply chain management system that supports companies to drive social compliance and improvements within the factories and farms within their global supply chains.

At Broekhof, we understand the importance of our packaging and decoration materials being ethically sourced and produced by suppliers that respect the rights of their workers. With the help of independent social audit companies, Broekhof has an insight into the working conditions at their suppliers sites. As BSCI participant we are also able to offer workshops and training sessions to our suppliers, tackling subjects such as Health & Safety, Capacity Building and Dialogue between Workers and Management.

Improving Working Conditions Worldwide
The BSCI Code of Conduct aims at setting out the values and principles that BSCI participants strive to implement with their business partners along their supply chains. Each BSCI participant endorses the Code of Conduct when joining the initiative. The BSCI sets out 11 core labour rights, which participants and their business partners commit to implementing within their supply chains in a step-by-step development approach. These include No Slave, Bonded or Child Labour, Ethical Business Behaviour and Fair Remuneration.

Broekhof is also an active member of Sedex, a non-profit organisation dedicated to improving ethical and corporate responsibility in the global supply chain. All Sedex members share and report information on: Health & Safety, Labour Standards, Business Ethics and the Environment.
