NL: Dutch Flower Group adds 10,000 m2 of cold store

A 4% turnover increase in 2016. With its 30 independent trading companies in flowers, bouquets, plants and decorative greenery, Dutch Flower Group (DFG) is continuing to grow, in line with recent years. With this growth, occurring with both large-scale retail clients (supermarkets, chain stores) and importing wholesalers, there is an increasing need for processing space.

Among other things this means expansion and reconstruction at a couple of Dutch Flower Group companies at the industrial park RFH Zuid, while new construction is also being planned soon. The new construction will take place at Betula 11 in the coming months, next to the DFG companies Bloom and Greenex (supermarket suppliers).

At Betula 11, Dutch Flower Group will be building 10,000 m2 of cold store, which will also be used to process hand-tied bouquets and plants for chain stores. The building is state-of-the-art and will be fully equipped with LED lights, super insulated floors and walls, heat recovery and many other technical solutions to conduct operations using as little energy as possible. The expansion will also include a large, more central parking for the DFG companies at the industrial park. The DFG expects all construction work to be completed by the end of 2017.
