Green areas mean quality of life and are amongst the indispensable open spaces in our cities. At the same time, people are imposing ever more stringent requirements on public green spaces - in a restless world, there is a demand for possibilities for withdrawing into nature. However, these are exposed to the most diverse dangers: The transport of goods all around the world, globalisation and highly specialised pests - there are several reasons which are contributing to the fact that new diseases and pests are spreading amongst woody plants time and time again. It is all the more important to make plants fit against damaging factors by applying the latest findings. In this respect, the "Monitoring of Neuralgic Points" addressed by Gerhard Renker, Plant Protection Service of the North Rhine-Westphalia Chamber of Agriculture, was just one starting point amongst many.
The speakers were:
- Gerhard Renker from the Plant Protection Service of the North Rhine-Westphalia Chamber of Agriculture
- Franz-Josef Gövert from the Office for Green Spaces, Environment and Sustainability of the City of Münster
- Karsten Joksch from the Leitsch Expert Office and Tree Care Company
