NL: Henk Jacobs from Van Zanten to Dekker Chrysanten

Effective from April 1, 2017 Henk Jacobs will join the board of Directors of chrysanthemum breeder Dekker Chrysanten. Currently, Henk holds the position of Managing Director at Van Zanten Breeding, a division of Royal Van Zanten, which he joined back in 2006. Prior to that, he worked in various management positions at Agrifirm / Horticoop, Royal Sluis and Incotec. In April Henk Jacobs will succeed member of the Board Hans Durieux (1951), who is going to retire.

During the past 10 years, Durieux together with director and major shareholder Cees Dekker led the company. Henk Jacobs brings a lot of general management expertise and experience to the company. The Management consists of Dekker and Jacobs. Beside Dekker, Jacobs will be responsible for the production, HR, royalties and foreign operations.

Dekker Chrysanten, founded in 1962, has during the last 20 years become one of the largest chrysanthemum breeders and propagators in the world. Product and process innovation are the basis for the success and for the international expansion, in particular with their own production facilities in Hensbroek (Netherlands) and Tanzania. Apart from the Netherlands, the Group is active in several foreign sales regions, amongst others with test sites and sales offices in South Africa and Colombia. Dekker Chrysanten has approximately 1,000 employees.
