The younger generation is ready to get started. They are the new crop of entrepreneurs, employees and consumers.
In addition, in the Royal FloraHolland House at the Seasonal Fair, a wide-ranging programme is offered to acquaint you with examples of innovative and distinctive concepts for selling plants. A number of start-ups from Let it Grow, the innovation platform of Royal FloraHolland, will present their revolutionary ideas for selling plants.
Innovative concept: 'Groene Vingers'
The shop of Karin Vollering in the heart of Delft is a typical example. Called 'Groene Vingers', it specialises in interior styling with plants. It resembles a green oasis. The brick walls of the old building form a great decor for the numerous, unusual plants. The old seed trays and glasshouses in the shop reveal her background. "I am a gardener's daughter," explained Karin. "My parents had a garden centre, which I ran together with my sister for 16 years." Every corner of her shop has been given its own identity. This allows Karin to show what the combination of plants and interior styling can do for your home. And the modest scale of her shop ensures that people just drop by for a bit of 'green' advice for their house and to be inspired.
Everything in the shop has been carefully planned, selected and combined with love. Karin added, "I am always looking for little treasures. Baskets that are consigned to the bottom shelf at the wholesalers are attractive to me. I combine them with glassware, a stand and lovely plant to transform them into a real eyecatcher."
