Jiffy Products Sri Lanka is the producer of horticultural coco substrates and propagation systems which, per May 22nd, have been certified according to the Control Union Certifications Standards on Inputs (EEC 834/2007 and 889/2008). Inspections performed by Union Certification have shown the sites and products to be in accordance with the Input EU Organic Standards.
EU Organic is an input approval for organic production throughout the European Union. Organic farmers must use authorized materials, and with this certificate the Jiffy products, Jiffy O’Growblock and O’Jiffy-7C, produced at our sites in Sri Lanka have been approved for use by organic growers in the EU.
Organic farming is part of an extensive supply chain, which also includes food processing, distribution and retailing. To be suitable for organic markets, the entire chain of organic production needs to be inspected and certified. Jiffy O’Growblock and O’Jiffy-7C now fulfill the requirements of certification and thus can be used throughout the organic production chain.
