Meghan and Jessica, Proven Winners

"Picking our favorite new annuals is like picking a favourite kid"

This is the time of year we turn our attention to what new plants we have to offer for next year—and we have forty-five annuals that are either completely new, or improved and ready for you to add to your benches next spring! If you haven’t had a chance to see them at a recent trade show, then click here to view the individual plant information pages on these new varieties.

One joy in our jobs is we get to test the new plants a year ahead, so we asked Meghan and Jessica to tell us what their favorite has been in their yards this season. We know…it is tough to choose just one, it is a bit like sharing who your favorite kid is.

Meghan: I have been in love with Rockin' Fuchsia Salvia since seeing it at CAST, and it has not disappointed in my yard either. It's been an unusually, hot and humid summer, and Rockin' Fuchsia has held up, even when I am traveling and my kids don't water quite as often as I would like! The extra bonus is how much the local hummingbirds seem to like it too.

Jessica: Those of you that know me understand just how hard it is for me to pick my favorite plant. But, if I have to pick just one new introduction that I’m super excited about, it’s the new Superbena Whiteout™ Verbena. I planted a large mass of these near my driveway and was expecting the traditional flushes that you often see with Verbena. Boy was I wrong; they’ve been a mass of large white blooms all season long, this is one impressive plant.
