UL/CSA certified cable welding system launched

Americans and Canadians require horticultural suppliers to obtain an UL/CSA certificate for their electronic and electrical products. In the Netherlands there weren't any companies that could supply prefabricated cabling that met these requirements, Stolze B.V. has now acquired the certification. Theo: "We had been thinking about it for a long time and are happy to say that we found an approved solution." Their method meets the standards of heat generation, power loss and safety.

SLS system
SLS (Stolze Las Systeem) is the name of the new cable welding method. The stripped wires are connected and sealed by a heat shrink tube. A heat shrink is nothing new in the world of cabling, but this one is different. The heat shrink of the SLS system consists of materials that have been approved by the certification body and therefore comply with all American and Canadian standards. The video below shows how it works.

The cables are welded in Maasdijk, so that the entire UL/CSA-certified package can be sent prefabricated. The package consists of switch panels, luminaires and prefabricated cabling. The accompanying instructions ensure that installation on site is fast. Because the cables are welded in the Netherlands, Stolze can keep down costs as labor in the Netherlands is cheaper than in the US or Canada.

Stolze can play a pivotal role in greenhouse cultivation in North America. All crops are experiencing strong growth, but marijuana cultivation in particular is taking off. Since September, Stolze has a locally based technician who carries out the installation and maintenance of the installations Stolze delivers, including lighting, and who can also provide fast service.

The quality of the welded joints is 100% guaranteed and all connections are tested in the workshop. The testing equipment is inspected annually by the UL/CSA testing institute and the results can be accessed at any time.

Stolze expects to have delivered 15 certified installations by the end of this year, and there are also several projects on track for next year. It is expected that Stolze will start selling to wholesalers in Canada and the US next year as well.
